Cindy McCain’s Courageous Stand

with one comment

Cindy McCain has taken a brave stand for privacy rights by refusing to make her tax returns public despite all sorts of pressure from the mainstream media.  Cindy, whose personal wealth is estimated at about 100 million dollars is the heiress to a beer distributorship.  It is about time that somebody stood up to this stalkerazi media once and for all.  Perhaps Britney Spears put it best when she said “Don’t matter if I’m on the scene or sneak away to the Phillipines. They still gon’ put pictures of my derriere in magazines.  You wanna piece of me.”

While Cindy McCain’s huge fortune no doubt made her an ideal match for Senator McCain, he clearly didn’t leave his first wife because of Cindy’s money.  It was probably a combination of love for Cindy and his first wife’s medical condition.  There is no need to be examining Cindy’s taxe.  That sort of thing is private.  One thing I’ll say for the McCains though.  They still have a spark to their relationship and that’s refreshing to see.  The exchange reported by author Cliff Shechter a few months ago reminded me of when Cheers was funny:

“At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, ‘You’re getting a little thin up there,'” Schechter writes. “McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, ‘At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.”  It’d be nice to see sparks like that flying in the White House again.

  1. Kind of Tracy and Hepburnish, isn’t it? Except that Tracy’s wife never did give him a divorce for religious reasons. McCain was lucky that there were no such family values type restrictions on his ability to leave his wife and marry the heiress of his dreams.
