Why We Can’t Let Obama Win

with 5 comments

I’ve heard some of my friends tell me not to worry abotu Obama becoming President.  They’ll say things like, “We survived Carter and Clinton.  Another Democrat won’t make any difference.”  The problem is they’r wrong.

You see, we kinda sorta changed the Presidency in the past 8 years.  This isn’t like a real official thing or anything, but the President now has power Clinton could only dream of.  We used to have this system called checks and balances to stop a President from getting too powerful, but since Bush has been President we kinda did away with it.

The Bush Administration has used signing statements to avoid going along with laws congress passed and aggressively asserted the President’s ability to ignore any statute passed by congress that conflicts with his interpretation of the Constitution.  With the war on terror–the President has basically taken on war powers until there is no more terrorism in the world (Terrorism of course has been around since at least the Sicarii Zealots in Israel in the year 70.  McCain has promised to end it in 3 years, but Obama has made no such promise).

We’ve also seen the federal government get into places it wasn’t before like education.  If Obama gets in power he will not use these new powers wisely for the good of the people as Bush has and for that reason more than any election in the history of this country we must stop Obama.

  1. Do you have that right, we can not stay asleep until its to late. Our country is a great nation and we would be letting her down to put a person like Obama in control of her resources! Thanks for a good post as always!

  2. This election season scares me. Where did the Dems come up with these two front runners? God have mercy on America.

  3. What really scares me is I’ve seen some polls that show them very close to beating McCain.

  4. I like McCain too, or did until he started turning away from his socially moderate, fiscally conservative voting record to recast himself as a neo-con to gain the support of most Republicans.
According to the polls that I’ve seen lately, either Obama or Clinton will do better than just give McCain a run for his money. With the economy in the sorry state that it’s in owing largely to Bush’s supply-side fiscal policy with tax cuts favoring our wealthiest few over the middle class, free trade sending American jobs overseas, banking and finance deregulation, and a war that we must borrow from China to pay for, do you seriously think that Americans will vote for four more years of the same?

  5. With the country in this bad a shape would you really trust it to a Democrat?
