John McCain’s Old Fashioned Frugality

with one comment

One thing I am constantly amazed by is the way that John McCain is able to balance both his love for the environment and his hate of wasteful spending.  While Senator Obama talks big, he assaults the environment.  At the amazing http://www.womenforjohnmccain.com they point  out the hypocrisy:

“And what does Barack Obama offer? A new Web site, www.newenergyforamerica.com . What Barack Obama doesn’t seem to understand is that all that Web traffic at multiple Web sites like www.newenergyforamerica.com and www.fightthesmears.com uses electricity – he’s actually contributing to the problem! Maybe that’s why John McCain has only one web site “

John McCain on the other hand has shown his leadership in this short term energy blip by stewarding his resources.  Rather than flying all over the country to campaign and flying back to Washington DC to cast mostly meaningless votes, McCain avoiding flying back to Washington all the time and missed 367 votes.  Its not like there aren’t 99 other senators to pick up the weight.  I can’t think of the last time a bill lost by one vote anyway.

This is exactly the same kind of frugality we can expect in a McCain White House.  Let Obama talk about saving the environment all he wants.  McCain proves he’s the real deal by showing up everyday or in his case by choosing not to show up everyday.
