Obama Could Mean Death to Walmart

with 32 comments

It was revealed today that Walmart has been warning its employees that a Democratic victory in November could lead to unionization of its work force.  In recent weeks thousands of Walmart managers have been summoned to mandatory meetings letting employees know not to vote for the Democrats in the Fall.  One slide employees were shown indicated that Obama = Union.

I applaud Walmart for taking such a personal interest in their employees’ welfare.  Only if we employers stick together can we take back this country from our workers who frankly are good hardworking people, but who lack the basic intelligence to govern themselves.

Unions in this country should be illegal and I would never tolerate one in my company.  Walmart workers have a very cushy job where they are inside in an air conditioned story.  For nearly $20,000,000 per year and for about $5K you can get health care these guys are on easy street.  On top of that, Walmart families received $2.5 billion in government aid in 2004 for falling below the federal poverty line.  Maybe, I’ll just go work for Walmart myself.

  1. Um, Nate, maybe in your neighborhood the people who work at WalMart earn 20 million a year, but I don’t think that represents MOST of Sam’s employees.

    August 1, 2008 at 6:19 pm

  2. Oh I meant $20,000, but it might as well be $20,000,000 with the amount they’re overpaid.

    August 1, 2008 at 6:48 pm

  3. wal mart employees are over paid??…. Yeah i dont think so there buddy. They prey on the weak who have familys to support and HAVE to work for minimum wage.wal mart isnt the only problem look @ jiffy lube working their employees like slaves or other big companies doing the same thing.

    August 9, 2008 at 10:27 am

  4. So other than that how do you like working at Jiffy Lube?

    August 9, 2008 at 12:06 pm

  5. Nate, it surprises me that people like you can have any kind of credibility.

You must be related to the Walton family. I worked for Walmart for a week and then quit. I got locked outside at night in the garden section while some spooky mexicans sat in their cars watching me.

Walmart did nothing about it. And the low pay and lack of benefits wasn’t worth it.

I wont even waste my time reading anymore of your garbage because its clear you are about as bright as a Fox News reject.

  6. No doubt Walmart has been creating a population of slaves. Between the abusive sweat shops in other countries and the abusive work given to senior citizens, I hope Obama socks it to them. He says he wont shop there for those reasons. And when unions come in, all it will mean is that either Walmart will have to stop taking rich man vacations, or shrink.

I prefer they shrink anyway because all they sell is imported garbage.

We need to make and sell our own goods. Thats makes for a self sufficient population.

  7. Nate, I feel like you truly don’t support alot of these things.YOu just are fighting a battle inside yourself. All your “values” are a manifestation of your fears and insecurities. Wal-Mart employees do great? Awwww your so cute and ignorant

    November 6, 2008 at 1:49 pm

  8. my what?

    November 6, 2008 at 3:47 pm

  9. brandon, “fears and insecurities” are what help shape this great country’s values! i suppose you’d have to get off your apple-pie-obama-high to understand that, tho.

  10. Nate you couldn’t handle the work load that the average Walmart employee does daily. If this is a cushy job then I hate to imagine what a hard job is. I’ve worked overnights for Walmart for four years and there is not a time when I’m not going full tilt. You need a reality check if you think that Walmart overpays their employees. I would like to see you live on what we make. Poor wages plus little benefits equal a need for a union. And oh, by the way, the air conditioning is turned down at night and in the summer you sweat your rear off. So before you start running your mouth about something you know nothing of gety a reality check!

  11. Air conditioning is turned down at night? That’s because there’s no sun and you don’t need it. Don’t be a sap Connie–unions take away rights.

  12. They work us as if we’re kidnap mexican kids (no offense to anyone) I even get BELOW minimal wage They stole 22 hard work hours from me ?(I worked I didn’t get paid) and we really do need the AC I passed out during the night because of heat stroke.
Yeah wal-Mart is just great… PLEASE I would get more cash if I quit and became a beggar!

  13. I think Walmart is the reason for America’s economic success and now they’re going to do for education what they’ve done for the economy. You know they are the number one funder of charter schools in the entire country.

  14. Nice site – thanks for making my blood boil!

Walmart is the beginning of socialism in America – the train their employees to get free health care through social safety nets instead of paying for their insurance. They are a bunch of commie pinkos that are killing America, especially as their are tied at the hip with Communist China.

I really wish “conservatives” and “hyper-Capitalists” would move (immigrate) to somewhere where there is less government regulation (Central America? Pakistan?) so they could enjoy their “laissez-faire paradise” without destroying America, a country made great by it’s government by the people.

  15. I work at walmart and true its not all the time fair…but what job is? Thats life. My pay is fair, I get no overtime thats a no no but the company employes so many people not much overtime can be given. I PAY FOR MY INSURANCE so whoever thinks we don’t…please spare me. We get great benefits and bonuses i mean come on we can get discounts on even movie tickets, vacations, and tons of others which i just found out in the grassroots meeting recentley. Wal-Mart does what it can for their employees no one realizes the massive amount of staff to have to provide for. I live in a very small town with only a walmart and a Hays and i can proudly say walmart has given over 200 jobs to the people in our town. Wal-mart polcies are so strict because we get fed bs all the time. I mean i have seen used merch at least a couple years used and they try to bring it back saying its brand new. But the point is Walmarts a great place to work for. Its not the employers fault about the outrageous polocies thats beacause the idiotic customers ahead of you ruined it.

  16. I was a walmart employee last year, and it was no walk in the park. I worked the crafts, domestic goods, stationary, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, and furniture all at once. These jobs usually required 4 and sometimes 5 people to work. That was on my 3rd week after just starting! I didn’t even get paid more for doing all that work with no help. The workers are abused there, under appreciated, and way under paid sir. I am sorry sir, but even by the looks of your picture, you have no idea sitting there in your pretty suit and I don’t think you should state your opinion until you get a job there and know first hand.

    July 14, 2009 at 1:55 am

  17. Thank you for your comments on my suit. I always pride myself on looking my best and a good suit is critical to any man’s wardrobe. They say you should always dress like the job you want to have. Perhaps if you wore a suit to your job at Walmart, they would consider you for their executive training program.

    July 14, 2009 at 6:55 am

  18. Suits and mustaches are VERY critical!

    July 21, 2009 at 11:07 pm

  19. I don’t know about critical, but definitely helpful if you want people to take you seriously.

    July 22, 2009 at 5:04 am

  20. All I can say is that if we let the union in Wal-Mart, the government will own us just like all of the banks and auto companies. I’m sure there will be no more bonuses, money put back for us for when we retire! I said a long time ago, that the auto industry was gonna strike themselves right out of a job, and they did. Figure all my benefits, insurance, bonuses, discount, vacations. I make out like a bandit, considering a lot of people are not working at all and a lot making a lot less than I do! Yes I work hard but on days I cant make the grade, that’s OK too! I’ve been with Wal-Mart 26 years and I am thankful for my job that allows me to be an independent woman!

  21. You go Beverly! You’ve come a long way baby!! I’m happy to support Walmart and the Chinese economy at the same time.

    October 21, 2009 at 5:36 pm

  22. ya i agree with overworked that maybe nate should get a real job that actually takes hard work and then maybe he can comment. also i liked how he avoided the criticism and talked about his suit. moron

    October 23, 2009 at 10:31 am

  23. Being the owner/operator of one of the best self-storage businesses in the United States is hard work. However, if I hadn’t inherited it, I’m sure I would have done something equally demanding.

    October 23, 2009 at 9:03 pm

  24. do you wanna get a life nate the poeple of aerica can obviosly govern themslfs otherwise there would be no america. go eat your moms would ya instead of posting this crap

    January 29, 2011 at 7:49 pm

  25. Having worked @ Walmart for most of the past ten years I can assure you that the employees are overworked and underpaid. Walmart has graduated from serving the customer to pure unadulterated greed. Unfortunately for their customers Walmart plays with their (customers) money on a daily basis. “Rollback” two prices a quarter and raise ten fifty cents. If they were as concerned about their customers as they are about counting their inventory every day and raising prices they would probably be at least a half way decent store to shop at. Between Walmart and the Unions this country is doomed. Walmart is creating thousands of jobs, unfortunately for us they are all in China.

  26. Empires come and go the republicans are making sure the American empire goes……………The rich will reach a point when they will run out of people to rob

    July 18, 2011 at 2:36 pm

  27. Empires come and go …the stronger they are the harder they fall. Republicans are allowing the rich to rob the poor ……there will come a time when the poor will have nothing to be robbed……start another war against a richer nation to rob

    July 18, 2011 at 2:39 pm

  28. Walmart is not as rosy as made out …..all the chinese goods at walmart has brought
down the local industry….The congress are too weak to be tough….theres alot of bullshit in wASHINGTON

    July 18, 2011 at 2:41 pm

  29. The American people who shop at walmart are to blame for our not having a job, We buy all the cheap junk made in China and sold at walmart. The small business people who supported our community their entire lives are disappearing because you choose to shop at the very place that cost millions of Americans their jobs every year. So if you are hungry eat your imported car and if your out of work ask Walmart for a job you have no right to complain because it your own fault. We put walmart where they are today with our greed

    October 8, 2011 at 6:35 pm

  30. i am a a c teck an i am in the union an make 29 dollars an hour

walmart is out for there self

    October 13, 2011 at 2:35 pm

  31. Ha! Absolutely astounding! I guess you see humans as a commodity… I love that you’re siding with Wal-Mart (regardless of the issue). Amazing.

“On top of that, Walmart families received $2.5 billion in government aid in 2004 for falling below the federal poverty line” <– Yeah! Sounds like a cushy lifestyle!

You're a fucking idiot. Plain and simple. A fucking… idiot.

    You're A Dipshit.

    October 21, 2011 at 12:06 pm

  32. Ya Nate you are just crazy for saying walmart workers have the ‘life’. And people theres a reason walmart buys from china, the work labor is 10X cheaper. Ito cost half as much to produce something in China and ship it over, than it does to produce it in America. Untill Americans can settle for less money and worse living conditions like China, we will never be able to compete with china in producing goods.
