Behind Every Good Man…Sarah Palin

This is reposted from my daughter Emily’s site.  The site contains articles by both myself and Emily, but I thought this one deserved the wider readership of my blog:

When Barack Obama named Joe Biden as his vice-president it signaled that Obama did not have much confidence in his own experience or judgement and needed a more seasoned politician to help him out.  By choosing a woman with less experience than Barack Obama, McCain has shown that he is totally confident in his own experience and judgement to lead.  I am too.

At first, it might seem kind of strange to think of a girl in such a high political office, but really being a Vice-President is a lot like being a wife.  Your job mostly is to make excuses for the President, go to functions he doesn’t want to go to, run the senate even though they don’t let you vote, and make sure the President takes his medication.  These are all jobs that are well-suited for a woman.

Palin, like McCain is a maverick.  She won’t even let lobbyists in her office which is probably why she didn’t reallize she was on McCain’s short bus.  Senator Ted Stevens has represented Alaska since the Kennedy administration.  He said of Palin and her running mate for governor, “We have a state that needs new management.  These two people represent a new generation and they represent a new vision, a new energy.  They represent the kind of people who should come along and take our places.”  That’s high praise indeed from Alaska’s senior statesman.

Let’s face it at 72, McCain is an extra order of bacon from having a fatal grabber.  If he does Palin will become the country’s first woman President.  Fortunately, she brings to the job nearly 2 years of experience as governor of a state with a population bigger than all, but 17 cities in this country.  As it was pointed out on Fox News today, Alaska is next to Russia and she has managed to avoid any kind of invasion or undo Russian influence unlike Georgia.  She also brings her expertise at culling the reindeer population to the lower 48.

With McCain’s own daughters nearing the aging of serious romantic relationships, I’m sure that they would be happy to have Aunt Sarah in office to make sure that they never get their heart broken by a federal employee without consequences.

Let’s ride John McCain’s coat tails to history lady.  McCain/Palin ‘08 and one bout of snow shoveling by John McCain could be our path to history.

  1. OMG! Are you actually serious? The Paleolithic period called it wants it’s image of women back and to remind you to stop pretending to be an Homo Sapien and join your brothers by this newly discovered thing called ‘fire’,lol!

  2. I know Nate personally. I can assure you, there’s nothing Homo about him. Just because a guy drinks Bud Light with Lime is no reason for you to be making assumptions.

  3. You named yourself after Carrie Bradshaw and you think my vision of women is outdated? You sound like my ex.

  4. Okaaay, ‘Steve’ seems like a history lesson is in order:
Homo Sapien: Modern humans. First appeared in the fossil record during the later part of the Pleistocene, around 35,000 BC. The only extant species of the primate family Hominidae. NOT HOMOSEXUAL!!!!
    * By the way,I use the name “The Urban Carrie Bradshaw” as a Nom De virtual alter ego, much like “Perez Hilton” and ” Nicole Bitchie” use theirs, it’s a play on a known celebrity’s name and therefore a clever(albeit popular) marketing ploy….and as a final parting shot: the original”Carrie Bradshaw’ may be a fictional character BUT she’s far more modern & more in touch with the country seemingly than Sarah Palin and her antiquated & rigid politics…I’d rather stumble around in Carrie’s overpriced Manolo Blahniks than the latter’s shoes..ANYDAY!!!LOL!

  5. Carrie,

It’s all well and good for you to have your “scientific” opinions, but God has a side too. Evolution is a theory. Some say, Creationism is a theory. I say, why can’t we all just get along and teach the controversy? It works in Alaska.

  6. I’m afraid I have to go with Sarah Palin on this one. I don’t cotton too much to this evolution stuff.

  7. Nate, remember when I said Brazil would be larger than the US if you didn’t count Alaska, and you answered that I could be sure you always counted Alaska? Now that Sarah Palin has been chosen to be McCain’s VP, she will surely put this great state on the spotlight. But honestly, now: do you think that, by picking Palin, McCain is courting the votes of women who would vote for Hillary, or the eskimo’s votes? Or both? Eskimo women will definitely vote for McCain now. Way to go! You republicans sure are great strategists.

  8. Palin will help with a whole lot of groups besides Eskimo Women. People who do not believe in global warming, people who believe in creationism, people worried about Polar Bear attacks will all rally around Palin. As she said when she edited her wikipedia entry, “She has eye popping integrity” too.

  9. Seriously now, we in Brazil have a doubt about what Palin kills in that horrible sport you call hunting. Polar bears? Seals? Reindeer? Birds? If she enjoys shooting any of those animals, that would be a good enough reason not to vote for her.

    August 30, 2008 at 3:16 pm

  10. I know she shoots moose, but she doesn’t shoot Polar Bears. She believes global warming should take care of them.

    August 30, 2008 at 3:25 pm

  11. And, she doesn’t shoot old men in the face. That’s an improvement over the last veep.

    August 30, 2008 at 3:32 pm

  12. That’s true, Steve, although I wouldn’t mind her shooting old men as much as I do moose. Maybe she could go hunting with McCain one of these days.
