McCain Reads That’s Right Nate!

with 5 comments

Wow! I don’t know what to say.  It is apparent to me that John McCain or at least one of his closest advisers who is savvy about the internets is reading this blog.  Way back in April, I talked about Obama’s vote in support of teaching sex ed to kindergartners.  Today, the McCain campaign has launched an ad attacking Obama for exactly that.  I mean come on, kindergarten.  There is no reason that kids in today’s society can’t wait until they’re 16 or 17 and get married like Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol.  I cannot express how honored I am that the McCain campaign has been listening.

  1. The education he proposed teaching to kindergartners was meant to protect them from sexual predators. It was about “good and bad touching,” etc. Why is that so bad?

  2. Why do you liberals think there can be any kind of good touching for Kindergartners?

  4. What, so no adult is ever allowed to touch a kindergartner in any way? A child of that age can’t differentiate between sexual and non-sexual interaction, and teaching them about “bad touching” could protect them. I honestly don’t see the downside in teaching that.

Besides, none of this was mentioned in the ad. They just called it “sex ed,” which completely mischaracterizes it. Are Republicans so desperate that they have to resort to deception in their political ads?

  5. obama actually proposed that we educate kids about how to watch out for inappropriate advances from adults.
he did NOT propose that kindegartners be educated about SEX. that would be fucking sick.
republicans just pick what obama says and streeeeeetch the truth to something completely different.
republicans should stop stooping so low as to pick apart what obama says and take his strengths and manipulate them to seem like weaknesses.
they should actually start discussing issues of SUBSTANCE rather than poking fun at and criticizing the democrats.
    it’s imply inmature.
