Palin’s Tanning Bed a Necessity

with 7 comments

For the last couple of days Democrats have been attacking poor Sarah Palin for putting a tanning bad in her governor’s mansion in Alaska.  They view this as some kind of luxury and not a convenient way to slow cook moose and seal in the flavor.  Even pitbulls need to tan.  Today, former republican candidate from New York, Dan Humiston who is also President of the prestigious Indoor Tanning Association came to her defense:

While partisan bloggers and the sun scare industry will use this as an opportunity to undermine Gov. Palin and demonize the indoor tanning industry, the fact is that Governor Palin’s decision to get UV light from a tanning bed positively impacts her health.

“Moderate amounts of indoor tanning allow Governor Palin to experience the many health benefits that come with exposure to UV light.  Especially in dreary northern locations like Alaska, indoor tanning can help guard against wintertime depression and ward off diseases associated with vitamin D deficiency.”

“Kudos to Governor Palin for standing up to dermatologists and other members of the sun scare industry who are trying to frighten Americans away from UV light.”

Any of us who have followed feisty Sarah’s career know that standing up to special interests like the sun scare industry is just what she does.  Come November you know she’ll be tanned, rested, and ready.

  1. Dan Humiston is not the “former” Republican candidate for New York’s 27th Congressional District.

Dan’s campaign is very active and he should win election to Congress in November, sending Rep. Higgins to the unemployment line.

  2. Oh I apologize. That’s awesome news. I am sure his experience with taking on the fat cats of the sun scare industry will serve him well in Washington. Do you know if he will retain leadership in the ITA? I hate to think of a lesser man taking stewardship right at the time when indoor tanning needs Dan the most.

  3. It is theorised by most of our top scientists that the sun is in fact the source of all our power — yet Democrats want to destroy the sun bed industry! I’m glad to see that Sarah Palin is stepping up and demanding more sun for Alaska; $35,000 is small change I can believe in.

  4. I for one would not have the guts to mess with the fat cats of the sun scare industry as their name is synonymous with “fear”.

  7. Thanks Ashley for your extremely topical post. I think you’d have to take that up with Cecily.
