McCain Declares Victory in Michigan

with 5 comments

With more and more Michiganders flocking to the maverick message of John McCain and Sarah Palin, the McCain campaign declared victory in the wolverine state.  With a commanding lead and the White House looking like a certainty, the McCain campaign has closed up its Michigan campaign offices so that campaign workers could be moved to other states to spread the McCain magic.

Some may see McCain’s abandonment of Michigan as risky, but I see this as just the sort of maverick behavior we’ve come to expect from the silver headed warrior.  An unnamed spokesman for the McCain campaign was quoted as saying, “Now that the Wall Street crisis is over, John is suspending his campaign in Michigan until the crisis with the American auotomotive industry is over.  It was an easy choice to make.  John is all about putting country first and we have Michigan in the bag.”

The McCain adviser stressed that, “If we win FL, MO, NC, VA, IN and OH — all states Republicans have won for decades — that puts us at 260 electoral votes,” the adviser said in an e-mail. “We need to find 10 electoral votes from CO, NV, NM, NH, MN, WI, and PA. Frankly, we have an easier map than Obama. He’s on the defense.”

Meanwhile, Obama’s campaign has struggled to find an audience for his policy of big taxes and rampant homosexuality.  He has been closing campaign offices in important states like North Dakota and Alaska believing them to be lost causes.
