That’s Right Nate

Thoughts from a right thinker.

Virginia, West Virginia, and North Virginia?

McCain is still winning with the "real" military.

Yesterday, McCain spokesperson Nancy Pfotenhauer appeared on MSNBC (Mostly Shady News By Cooks) to explain that while Obama may be leading in Virginia, the McCain campaign continues to win in “Real Virginia”.  She went on to define real Virginia as the part of the state outside of Northern Virginia which is more Southern in nature.  I wonder if it isn’t time to separate Democratic strongholds Alexandria and Arlington counties from the rest of the state.

Today, Colin Powell endorsed Obama.  I’m not really surprised, but I do believe that the McCain campaign will win the “real military”.  I know that the military has been donating more to the Obama campaign than the McCain campaign, but I bet that comes mostly from a couple elitist officers.  I’d take a real American hero like Joe the Plumber over Powell or General “We Should Talk to Our Enemies” Petraeus.

I admire Sarah Palin’s Wasilla church for their efforts to pray away the gay and turn sinful homosexuals into good Christian folks, but I think this effort is too limiting.  I continue my quest for a 21-28 year old attractive professional Christian conservative woman.  With my daughter Emily experimenting with liberal politics, I think she could use a role model too.  I’d like to encourage my Christian readers to begin praying that such a woman will come into my life.  I would be especially thankful if you could pray that she not be fat and has a significant income of her own.

  2. MSNBC = Mostly Shady News By Cooks?! were you maybe
    thinking of the food channel?

  3. Nate is always thinking about food! This is his favorite time of year. Nate will probably be up 20 pounds by January 2nd.

  4. ya know, come to think of it, that keith olbermann guy could stand to lose a pound or two. i’ve never caught his cooking segment, tho – does he change out of his suit for it?

  5. I hear he’s famous for his Aunt Sarah’s Moose Stew.

  6. Nate, I’d pray for you so you could find an attractive Christian woman. The only problem is that you may be moving to Brazil this coming January… Right? If Obama wins? Not that you can’t find an attractive Christian woman in Brazil. But would your patriot self settle for a foreigner whose native language isn’t even English?

  7. I really am not that shallow. I am not concerned with anybody’s language. As long as she picked up English along the way I’m happy.

  8. omg, emily! keith is related to the veep-wannabe?! is that by blood or marriage? or is it another one of those icky out-of-wedlock situations?

  9. I’ve heard that he and Sarah are kissing cousins, if you know what I mean. Beneath all that hostility must lie a steaming cauldron of white-hot passion.

  10. you just might be on to something there, steve! (i have noticed that all of his intense, seething, impassioned on-camera rants about her are filmed with him seated behind a big desk…)

  11. I hear that when she says “socialist” it really means “I want Keith.”

    October 23, 2008 at 1:46 pm

  12. well duh. isn’t that what every red-blooded american woman means when she says it?! meee-yowww, keith!

    or maybe it’s just me.

  13. nate, i am thrilled to read that you are seeking to re-enter the holy institution of marriage. since you
mentioned to lola that you are not overly-concerned with fluency in english, i am eager to pass on the following email, which i received with the admittedly unfortunate title “Sexy Filipina Girls are Hot”. nonetheless, this is all about the promotion of heterosexual marriage, so we can forgive that.

“Why choose a Filipina? Women from the Philippines are noted for their beauty, grace, charm and loyalty. With their sweet nature and shy smiles, Filipina’s
posses an inner beauty that most men find irresistible. Filipinas are by their nature family-orientated, resourceful and devoted. What’s more, English is one of the official languages of the Philippines, so communication is straight forward, and as the majority of Filipinas are Christian, cultural compatibility is easier than some other Asian countries. With the help of our website you can
find a filipina in your area.”

  14. That does sound intriguing. I have an investment going on now in Nigeria that should fetch me a tidy sum of money and then I will throw myself completely into this pursuit.

    October 24, 2008 at 10:42 am

  15. I like the “communication is straight forward” part, because what other sort of communication should a man have with a woman?
Well, Nate, Brazilian women have a clear advantage over Filipinas. I know not all Republicans are racist bigots, but you’ll be happy to know that 50% of Brazilians are white. Besides, I’m not sure an American could distinguish a Filipina from a Vietnamese, and who’d like to relive old traumas unless you’re a POW?
Good luck with your Nigerian investments.

  16. I am color blind. I have several black friends and I treat them like any other employee. I never used to have any interest in Fillipina women until I started reading Michelle Malkin. Meow.

  17. Gina and Lola,

While it’s fascinating to me to watch the two of you fight over old Nate and his money and power, as a Papist, I must remind you that Nate has never and will never be interested in a Catholic woman. So, move along girls, nothing for you here.

  18. Steve, it’s touching to see such concern from a brother-in-law. I answered your comment in the “Now Obama has his own flag” post.
