Celebrity Hockey Fan Encourages Black Voters
Roger Farina first vaulted to celebrity when he was chosen as the NHL’s Fan of the Year in 2003 now he’s hoping to use some of that celebrity to rally up African-American voters in North Carolina. As several African-Americans left an Obama rally to go vote early, Farina was there bullhorn in hand to voice his support and encourage African-American hockey fans going to vote.
This sort of Southern hospitality where white voters help undecided African-American voters make up their mind seems to have faded out since the 1960s, but its good to see the McCain campaign bringing back those more refined traditions. Unfortunately, 4 voters had their tires slashed, but accidents will happen
