Take the Republican Survey

with 13 comments

Like me, most of you probably got that RNC Membership Survey this week and have been a bit slow filling it out.  I mean, when things are going well for your party (Thanks Obama Recession), it is hard to take the time to communicate your enthusiasm sometimes.  I decided to fill out my Republican survey online as motivation to get my butt in gear.

1. Why did Republicans lose the White House and Congressional seats in the 2008 elections? Check all that apply.

Iraq War
Poor Economy
Government’s Response to Katrina
Republican Scandals
Republicans acted like Democrats
President Bush’s policies
Liberal Media
Other:

OK, I’m checking Republicans acting like Democrats and Liberal Media those are for sure.  The other ones sound too much like blaming us.  I am also filling out other–“I believe it was due to a large number of illegal aliens being registered illegally by ACORN and Catholic Charities.”

2. What are the key strengths and beliefs of the Republican Party that we can build on? Check all that apply.

Social Issues
Family Values
Ethics
Free Markets
National Security
Fiscal Discipline
Limited Government
Personal Responsibility
Pro-Life
Other:

I’m checking them all and going with an other of  “I am continually amazed at our ability to stand up for morality as a party even when we as individuals sometimes fall short of it.  Our strong morals and our willingness put fiscal responsibility over giving handouts to lazy people who don’t want to get jobs and our willingness to stand up to terrorism by any means necessary including torture.”

3. What are the weaknesses of the Republican Party? Check all that apply.

Bad Messaging
Poor Response to Democrats
Republicans who don’t vote like Republicans
Standing Up for Principles
Need to Lead in Congress
Other:

No Other needed on this one.   We need to stop Republicans from voting like Democrats.  Once we find those people we need to deal with them.  We also need to lead in congress.  Let’s start demanding committee leaderships.  We did get almost half the votes.

4. What is the best way to encourage and register new voters in your community? Check all that apply.

Door-to-Door visits
Online Social Networking
E-mail
Personal Appearances by Republican Leaders in Your Area
Radio Ads
Interaction at Community Events
Online Advertising
Other:

How did they leave out gun shows?  Tell me that isn’t an obvious oversight.   NASCAR races is another nobrainer as are  conservative churches.  You find me a man with enough faith in God to antagonize a poisonous snake and I’ll show you a potential Republican.

5. What technology would you like to see the RNC make better use of to grow our Party? Check all that apply.

More Aggressive E-mail Campaigns
More Aggressive Text Messages
More Aggressive use of Twitter
More Social Networking Sites like Facebook and MyGOP
No Opinion
Other:

Michael Steele has convinced me, the best way to get our message out is by kickin some dope rhymes and layin down some mad lyrics.  “Obama don’t want your change.gov.  You’re worse than Doctor Strangelove.  You’re runnin up debt like MC Hamme.  Now the GOP’s gonna teach you manners.”   You can use that if you want just credit me.

6. What can the Republican Party do to earn and maintain your trust?

We live in a cynical, cynical world and politics is a business of touch competitors, but the party completes me.  I could no more leave this party than I could start recycling.  No matter what happens from here on out, you’ve got my support and I will always have your back.

  1. They should really go to you for all their rap lyrics. I agree. They should just keep on keepin’ on and see how that works for them.

  2. I filled out the survey for them too… I really wanted to help them with their ideas.

Yes, you should write their rap lyrics, you are much better than Steele. I just don’t think he has enough black in him to do it.

  3. I’m going to think outside the box here: Free cigarettes, bullets, and tax rebates for people who register as Republicans.

They really need to hire you to show the kids how ccol it can be to be white. Your def raps are sure to make more kids want to be white, or at least white-acting.

  5. “The other ones sound too much like blaming us.”

    Wow.

Heaven forbid a little introspection or humility would come from those who advocated and supported the policies during the past several decades that have gotten us into our current state of affairs.

*That* is the reason Republicans lost power – a complete disconnect and unwillingness to admit their own role in recent history.

Show some sense of responsibility to the people and they will respond – Deny and complain and you will do nothing but turn off those in the middle.

Or just play to your ever dwindling base as you continue to lose the moderate vote. Its how the Republicans lost every member of my family’s support – Moderates don’t have any truck with excuses from the extremes. Suck it up and you will succeed. Don’t you get it?

I fully expect this post to NEVER be seen on this blog – another example of an unwillingness to self-analyze I’m sure.

You do Republicans a disservice if those are truly your answers to their survey.

  7. Family values…lol.

You spent two decades screaming about how important family values were and then you run John McCain against Obama. In terms of family values…Obama blows him away. Then your VP has an illigitimate grandchild from her teenage daughter and you shrug it off.

I voted for Romney because he typifies family values. You clowns voted against family values in the primaries.

  10. “I’m pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong about not getting posted.

The only person I block is my brother-in-law.

“I voted for Romney because he typifies family values. You clowns voted against family values in the primaries.”

I didn’t want McCain either. I just voted for him after I knew he was going to win.

“Whoa, this is creepy, I’m feeling like it’s not a joke.
You don’t seriously think Jesus spoke English do you?”

Not exclusively, but he was Jewish and most Jews can speak at least some English.

  12. Wow. Some of you are dense. Or else, maybe I’m missing the sarcasm.

I can’t believe you people are still attacking Sarah Palin for no reason! Of course MC Willard Romney knows how to communicate with the young folks – holler back, Mitt! – but Sarah Palin represents the true substance of the Republican party.

The substantive parts of the Katie Couric interview we’re culled by the liberal media, much like the turkeys in her post-election interview were culled for the Christian celebration of Thanksgiving. Everybody knows that Couric was totally jealous of Palin’s beauty queen looks (once second-best in Alaska!) and superior intelligence (you can tell she’s smart because of her sexy-librarian glasses).

I agree that for the Republican party to come back, we need to get more corporate and religious ownership of the media. Right now, there are whole channels that broadcast nothing but secular, socialist propaganda – I heard that the new talk show host on MSNBC is actually a secret lesbian! Barbara Bush would be spinning in her grave if she knew this.

Of course we must weed out the RINO’s who vote against the party’s wishes once or twice a year. I mean Arlen Specter almost voted for a wholly inconsequential and symbolic vote with the Democrat Party! Thank God he came to his senses and caved at the last minute when it really mattered.

There is no doubt that we need to do whatever is necessary to win back Congress in 2010 so that once again government works for the wealthy (who have clearly worked harder than the poor and immigrants) and the Christians who continue to be persecuted under Barack Hussein Obama’s administration.

  13. Thank you Billy. I am so glad we finally have a voice of reason showing up on this blog.
