Grading Obama’s First 200 Days

with 12 comments

I make no secret that I am politcally conservative and while I try to hear both sides to every issue, I do tend to vote Republican.   I don’t think that’s such a bad thing because I am extremely open minded and would definitely try to praise the democrats on issues we agree on like education.  Conversely, I would criticize the Republicans if they ever did something I didn’t approve of.  I hold myself to high journalistic standards for fair and balanced coverage of important events.

For those reasons, when I graded President Obama on his first 200 days, I looked at the state of his Presidency with an open mind.   I can’t tell you how much it pains me that I find myself not only giving him a grade of F, but in stating categorically that he may be the worst President in the history of the world.   Let’s look at Obama’s failures:

  • The economy is a shambles
  • We are at war with two different countries at the same time.  Afghanistan looks like a real quagmire
  • North Korea and Iran appear to be ready to develop nuclear missiles
  • The moral leadership of the President has been so lax that senators and even governors are having affairs
  • There is tremendous outrage over his health care initiative

Now, President Obama will probably somehow try and blame all his shortcomings on George Bush.  I find that so tedious.   You know who didn’t blame his troubles on other people?  Baby Jesus.  It would have been very easy for him to grow up to be a bitter community organizing after being born in a manger and everything.  It seems the only thing Barrack and Baby Jesus have in common is not being born in this country.  To me that’s just sad.

Obama is bankrupting this country.   Do you know how much it cost us to fight the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? $0 dollars.  If you don’t believe me check the budgets sometime.   George Bush also found a way to create a $900 billion prescription program for seniors without having to pay for it.   That’s the kind of sound financial management that Obama is clearly lacking.

I also graded the Congressional Republicans and I’m happy to say, they get an A.   Not only have they made witty music videos and pithy symbolic use of tea, they also have refused to take part in an evil agenda:

  • Have refused to support euthanizing seniors to harvest their organs
  • Have refused to support fast tracking illegal aliens as government doctors
  • Have refused to support Supreme Court Justices who support repealing the second amendment
  • Have refused to support the stimulus package until money was going to their district and then they sort of took credit for it.

This is a great time to be a Republican.  Our leaders in congress are the type that Henry Clay and Daniel Webster would have been if they had Youtube to work with.   Thank goodness, they’re watching out for us.

  1. I give him an F on policy stuff, but an H+ in appearance. Obama is hot, hot, hot, in an ethnic kind of way.

  3. I think you should give yourself the 2009 Natie Award. 🙂

  4. As a former Miss Ohio, I appreciate someone who can hold their own in a swimsuit shot. He may be a nerd, and ethnic, but Obama is bufftastic.

  5. Thank you Bishop. Unfortunately, the awards aren’t until December. To be honest, it’s an honor just to be nominated. I hope that I will be, but I know the competition is tough

  6. Leaving aside Obama’s hotness, how about counting Honduras as one of his failures? Ok, I know what you’re thinking: who/what/when is Honduras? It’s a small country in Central America, they speak Spanish there, and they had a coup d’état. And Obama, instead of doing what American presidents have always done because it’s the right thing to do – supporting the new ruler – said he’s cutting off relations with the country until they have the old ruler back. That’s all the right-wing thinkers in Brazil talk about, how Obama is killing the US. They even say Obama won’t finish his term.
So… Do you think you will finally need a word for coup d’état in English? (because I know you don’t speak French).

  7. I don’t see how you can separate policy from appearance? To be a Miss Ohio, I had to beautiful and have a socially responsible platform (policy of my own). One without the other is madness.

  8. I just don’t get why they use the same term for government overthrow and soup of the day?

  10. …So I gather you’ve never heard of Honduras?
Cecily, please don’t be upset! I meant “leaving aside Obama’s hotness” temporarily only, so we could talk about French soup.

  11. As U.S. American, I too am deeply troubled by the Honduras situation. The Irish bookmakers say Miss Honduras is the favorite to win the 2009 Miss Universe pageant. But, as far as I know, she has never competed in state preliminaries like Miss USA did. I mean, she was Miss North Carolina and then Miss USA. That’s the way it’s supposed to be.

  12. To be honest, my opinion on Honduras is a pox on both their houses. The President illegally tried to get run for another term when the Constitution said he couldn’t and the military launched a coup. I didn’t really know enough about the situation to find a good guy.
