Racist NFL Blocks Limbaugh

The long racist history of sports in America predates the integration of professional sports.  In the early part of the 20th Centurty, there is no greater example than the story of Jim Thorpe.  You see, Thorpe was an American Indian at a time when few non-whites played big time sports.   As a result, the media overhyped him in football, track, and baseball because it was so important for them that a non-white be a star.  Jim Thorpe was an early star in the NFL in his late 30s,  an age when Brett Favre had already retired 2 or 3 times.

In the 1960s, the NFL’s greatest coach was Vince Lombardi.   Lombardi was an avowed communist who once said, “Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.”  It was in this era that the rigid formations and specialization made every player a cog in a machine instead of an individual.  This is the beginning of football as communist worker propaganda.

In the 1980s, the NFL like most things, got better under Ronald Reagan.  Perhaps, the NFL reached it’s pinnacle in 1985 when Craig James gained 1,227 yards for the New England Patriots and became the last white running back to shatter the 1,000 yard mark.   Soon after, the NFL returned to it’s socialist and racist roots.  It is in this world of players unions, a socialized draft, and revenue sharing that Rush Limbaugh sought to compete.   He is far better off not having to sink to the level of the NFL owners.

I have no doubt that Rush is very fortunate not to be part of the NFL, but it is the players I truly feel sorry for.   Every year, Brigham Young puts a very competitive team on the field and every year their top white running backs and wide receivers are denied places in the NFL.   It is for the McKay Jacobsons and the Mike Hagues that I weep.

The NFL has a very strict controlled substances policy, but I am sure that Rush could pass any drug test they gave him.  I’m not even sure that Oxycontin is on the proscribed substances list.  Rush is a great man, whose only crime here is that perhaps he cares just a little too much.   And why didn’t Rush get a team?  Well according to him the answer is simple, “the Obama people have their hooks in the NFL now.   It’s just what it is folks.”

Shame on you NFL.  Shame on you President Obama.
